About this Illustration

This illustration was inspired by a book by Pixie Lighthorse called, “Boundaries and Protection.” She says, “Discovering where you end and others begin is not about guilting, humbling, threatening, hurting, manipulating, or punishing them to achieve a desired outcome. Setting boundaries as self-care is different from self-preserving out of lack of willingness to be vulnerable. When you find the line between how vulnerable you can and cannot be, you learn where your limits are.”

I’m a people pleaser which stems from a shadow aspect about me that I feel “not enough.” I’m also a Leo, so my ego is extremely fragile. It’s very easy for me to give all of myself to whoever needs it. I can stay strong in the moment, but after awhile, I crumble. It’s not sustainable. I’m working on being aware of what breaks me, what cracks my shell.

Even though it’s hard, setting boundaries keeps that life force inside of us pumping strong and we need it to be strong if we’re going to achieve our goals!
