Those people that get under our skin, piss us off, make us nervous, upset or any negative emotion are there to teach us something. There’s usually a shadow aspect there that needs some attention, needs some love and integration. When someone makes us angry, it’s an invitation to be fascinated by that, take note of it, and wave the thought by our brains that maybe this trait that triggers us is really something we hate about ourselves. Something we don’t want to be, some part of ourselves we’ve been hiding and not acknowledging.
When these shadows go unobserved and not given attention or light, if you will, they fester and will continue to force a reaction versus a response when we are confronted by those who embody them.
Some deep shadow and inner child work I’ve been doing since last year. An ongoing process!
